Here goes nothing.....

Well....Im finally doing it...MAKING A BLOG...

My life has changed so much lately just in the past couple months and this is the best possible way to
keep up with all these amazing and unforgettable memories, as well as filling in all my friends and family back home! Here it goes....

As of June 17th I have been living in Bangkok, Thailand!  My boyfriend's job was transferred from Kansas(where we were for 6months) to Bangkok!  We we were under the impression that it would just be 3-4months, and just after 3 weeks of us being here it was switched to 1 YEAR!  I was suprised how well I took this news, I was kind of excited there was so much more to be seen here and plenty of great people to hang out with!  Now on to the fun part....here is a little bit of what I have been up to so far in Bangkok!

Welcome to Bangkok....This was the view from the 1st Hotel we stayed in!
I met Abbey the first day I got here, her husband worked with Lance
She took me out for the first of many girls nights where I met Sarah, Kristin, and Michele

I also got introduced to the Babies Orphanage through Abbey and met this little cutie

Her name is Sum Chi
When you go to the Babies Orphanage you stay for about 2 hrs and bathe, feed, and play with the babies.    It is very fun seeing them and taking care of them, but it is so sad that there are so many babies in this situation.

On about the 3rd week I was here I went with the American Woman's Club
(they are a group of eomrn  women to the
Maeklong Train Market (link below).  The market literally folds apart as the train comes through and then reopens as it leaves and it is inches away from you as it goes by, its pretty cool.
Me and Abbey on the 1st of two trains headed to the Maeklong Market
Angel, Me, and Abbey walking to our 2nd train (the train that actually goes through the market)
All the Ladies that went on the train
The train that we rode that went through the market
The train coming through the market

One weekend me and Lance went with his company to help fix up an elementry school in Rayong, about 2hrs out of Bangkok, the company also had a party to celebrate all the new hires.

All the people that helped with the school
The pretty view from our window where we stayed in Rayong
The insane spread of food we had at the new hire celebration

                                                                 The New Hires!

I also got to go to the Jim Thompson House where Thai Silk
was made with Yvonne and Kristin

Enjoyed some great nights out with some of the most amazing people

                                                            Marloes and Kristin
                                                                  Goof and Lance
                                                                Me and Marloes
                                                                 John and Kristin
Kristin, Me, Abbey, Angel, and Marloes
                                              Lance, John, Shawn, and Goof

This is what Bangkok is all about a bunch of people who
end up turning into life long friends!
I did end up being a more crafty then usually here as well,
made my first quilt thanks to the great teaching skills of Kristin.

Kristin and Tammy(who also did a quilt and was much better then me)
starting to cut the Thailand Material for our quilts.

                                                       The finished product

                                                    Enjoyed some beautiful Temples

We even got to celebrate July 4th with an Independence Day Picnic!

So far Ive explored, danced, WALKED, laughed, ate(sometimes stuff i had no clue what it was), and have had a blast!  The one thing that I dont know if I will ever get used to is goodbyes they are by far more common here people come and go so quickly after you get to know them so fast!  One of the greatest girls Ive met so far is in the process of heading back to the states on to her next adventure.  Kristin thank you for taking me under your wing and showing me such a great time!! You will be missed!!  Till next time!
